President
Amy, who serves as both Board President and Director of Resue Operations, is a career healthcare professional with over 25 years’ experience ranging from flight medicine and intensive care work to medical case management of catastrophic workers compensation injuries. As a Nurse Practitioner, she understands the anatomy and physiology of dogs (surprisingly they aren’t that different from humans) and leverages that knowledge to provide the best care possible to the dogs in Wag Again’s Foster Program. As a career medical professional, she brings her love of helping people to the rescue world.
Her no nonsense approach to rescue earned her a spot as a keynote speaker at the grand opening of the Harris County Pet Resource Center, along with helping the Harris County DA’s Office secure a felony indictment for cruelty to a non-livestock animal for Charlie, a dog in our Foster Program.
Secretary
My name is Donna Watson and I am 41 years young and the mother of 3 kiddos, ages 16, 12, and 6. My family and I moved from California to the great state of Texas a little more than three years ago. We arrived one month prior to Hurricane Harvey striking Houston. Thankful we were unscathed, we immediately saw the need to foster not only displaced dogs from the hurricane, but also the multitude of strays and owner surrenders in the area. We started fostering immediately with various rescues and foster failed and adopted three dogs, Bailey, Sadie, and Julie.
I met Greg and Amy through another rescue and immediately bonded to the both of them. With like mindsets, we set forth to found Wag Again Rescue.
In short, I am a co-founding board member and Secretary, foster coordinator, and foster. I have lost count of how many dogs we have fostered, but keep in contact with almost every family of each adopted dog!
I find rescue stressful and all encompassing, but most of all rewarding beyond any other measure.
Our rescue is truly making a difference in the lives of countless dogs as well as in our community. I’m so proud of Wag Again Rescue and can’t wait to see our progress and continued growth in the rescue community!
Executive Director
Greg, our Executive Director, got into dog rescue by mistake, seriously.
Being a lifelong dog lover, he has always wanted to help animals, just wasn’t sure how. After him and his wife Amy found a couple of stray dogs, they got hooked up with a local rescue and cut their teeth in the Houston rescue world with them. Not long after, Greg and his wife thought it would be fun to start up their own dog rescue…now their hobby has turned into a full-time unpaid job.
Greg is a career firefighter/EMT with over 17 years experience and brings his passion for helping people to Wag Again to help the amazing pups!
One of the things he finds most rewarding about dog rescue is helping families find the missing piece of their family puzzle that sometimes they didn’t know was missing.
